America ’s past greatness was largely the reflection of the dignity of its leaders and the spiritual outlook and respect that both the people and leaders who honored God’s Word and prayerful devotion to Almighty God. During the Revolutionary war, General Washington’s Army was reduced to extreme suffering and people were desponded. One man left his home with an anxious heart and was passing the edge of the woods near the camp and heard the sound of a voice. He stopped to listen and looking between the large trees, he saw General Washington engaged in prayer. He passed quietly on that he might not disturb him and after returning home he told his family what he saw and said “ America will prevail”. In this serious crisis in the life of our nation, many people would take courage if our leaders would adopt the attitude of the Father of our country, when this nation is in distress. What a sight it would be if the citizens of our country could see the President, Cabinet, and Congress on their knees uniting in prayer, imploring the Lord’s direction for the way out of our difficulties. What do God’s children do at this hour? Fold our arms and rejoice that we are saved and conclude the things must come to pass and there is nothing we can do? Or do we prostrate ourselves before Almighty God and cry out to Him for deliverance? Where are the broken and contrite hearts bowing in submission to the Lord Jesus Christ? Our present world conditions screams at us to repent, be honest and get right with God & God’s righteousness can rescue us. Our country needs a God given, spiritual stimulus revival that will produce a spirit of repentance that would result in a sovereign move of God’s mercy and forgiveness. It’s revival for survival! Today is the day of salvation! |
